Biography
Tomislav has a Ph.D. degree in Computing from the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, Croatia. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Zagreb and serves as Vice Dean for Students. His teaching focuses on programming and software engineering, while his research interests include technology-enhanced learning, game-based learning and gamification, adaptive and personalized learning, and pre-university STEM outreach and engineering education.
Tomislav has extensive experience in designing and implementing hands-on learning activities for K-12 students and in supporting teachers through professional development and university–school partnerships. For his work in the STEM outreach he received the Croatian National Science Award in 2019.
Within IEEE, he currently serves as Chair of the IEEE Educational Activities Board Pre-University Education Coordinating Committee and as Vice Chair of the IEEE Croatia Section. He has previously served as Section Secretary and Head of Educational Activities, leading numerous initiatives focused on pre-university engineering education and STEM outreach.
