Peter Yau

Assistant Professor in Computing Science at the University of Glasgow, Singapore

Biography

Dr. Peter Yau earned his DBA from University of Newcastle, Australia. His dissertation, titled “An Empirical Study of the Drivers and Impediments in the Adoption of Financial Technology”, under the supervision of Prof. Leo J. Fredericks.

Dr Yau also holds an MA in Law (uLaw), a MMgt (MGSM) concentrated in financial management, and BSc (Hons) (CUHK) in Computer Science. His research focused on two areas: “Financial Regulations in the United Kingdom” and “Dimensional Tracking in Robotic Computer Vision Using Kalman Filter”, under the supervision of Prof. KH Wong.

Peter is currently an Assistant Professor in Computing Science at the University of Glasgow, Singapore. He has joined the editorial board of the Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data as an associate editor; this journal offers substantial new insight including machine and deep learning, knowledge reasoning and discovery. He is a programs evaluator for the Computing Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), received a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award, and was an Amazon AWS Educate Cloud Faculty Ambassador.

His research interests include system engineering, information technology application, financial technology and application, Internet of Things (IoT), robotics, web development, resource planning methodology, entrepreneurship and innovation, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) management.
