Biography
Dr. Parkavi A. is an accomplished academician and Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT), Bangalore. With over 19 years of experience in teaching and mentoring, she has made significant contributions to the field of computer science education and research. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering, with her doctoral research focusing on designing a recommendation engine using educational data mining to enhance course conduction within the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) system. Her academic profile is enriched by a strong publication record, including 35 international journal papers, 53 international conference presentations, seven book chapters, and five patents (one granted and four published).
Dr. Parkavi actively leads and contributes to various outreach initiatives, especially in STEM education. She has been an IEEE Senior Member and STEM Ambassador since 2021, receiving the IEEE Computer society Outstanding Volunteer Award in 2023. She serves as the Faculty Advisor for both the IEEE Computer Society and IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) at MSRIT as well as Execom member in Bangalore chapter for CS,WIE AND RAS, promoting inclusive learning and leadership opportunities. Through numerous funded projects and collaborative programs, she has guided 51 student projects and continues to inspire young minds through innovative teaching methods, workshops, and community engagement efforts.
