Atal Tinkering Labs: A Case Study of Disruptive STEM Innovation in India
This session is a case study of a highly successful grassroots STEM outreach program of the Government of India called Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL). These ATL are makerspaces for pre-university students from grade 6 to 12 in India. This session will cover the genesis of the program, its operational aspects, role of volunteer mentors, ATL curriculum & implementation, challenges, wide impact, best practices, collaboration with IEEE, best practices and how it can be replicated in emerging and developing economies.
